In 2021 I attended the 1st Gastrosophy Congress in Seville, where I was invited to give a lecture and join a roundtable. As we were about to begin, we were notified that the entire organizing team was in quarantine due to a positive COVID-19 case. The congress—and all its protocols—had to be organized, or rather improvised, by the participants themselves: crisis, urgency, the need for immediate coordination, multiple layers of complexity and parameters to decide—or simply to act.
Tactical Food Flux (TFF) is an improvised protocol that appropriates the dynamics of conventional catering and, using codes disseminated by new technologies, proposes a radical, unusual, and spontaneous way to plan, prepare, and serve food and beverages.
TFF also aims to manage convivial moments, and to promote and cultivate social communication and the exchange of ideas among guests.
TFF is improvised and experimental, and will be developed through a workshop in which participants will extrapolate and hybridize concepts such as the collaborative economy, the circular economy, the attention economy, digital transformation, automation, edge computing, blockchain and tokens, the algorithmic society, social gamification, DAO, and over the top.
The outcome is unpredictable.
